We had an amazing experience picking out our puppy Bentley! The family is absolutely amazing to work with and they take wonderful care of the puppies. They also have an amazing home where they raise the puppies to give them plenty of room to run around and play. We have to wait 3 more weeks to pick up our baby and we can't wait to get back here to take him home! This family is truly amazing with these puppies and raise them as a part of the family! We have been so happy with our experience with Great Oaks Kennel. Justin and Jill were very friendly and informative in all of our communications. It would be tough for me to say a single negative thing regarding our experience with Justin and Jill at Great Oaks Kennel. As soon as I put my deposit down for our male golden retriever puppy, I spoke with both Jill and Justin within a matter of hours. They treated me with nothing but respect, despite this being our first dog. The day we visited the puppies were all perfect and it was a difficult decision, but in the best way, because they were all so cute! We now have our beautiful puppy and we feel so blessed. Although I had not been planning long term for a puppy, the way that my daughter Hadyn had, the purchase of a puppy came as a sweet surprise. About one month ago, I accompanied Hadyn to select her puppy and learned that one of the litter mates would be available. I had always wanted to have a dog that could potentially be a therapy dog and it seemed a golden retriever would be the perfect breed. After expressing my sudden interest, I received great follow up and communication from Great Oaks. I have received weekly photos and videos of my pup and prompt communication to answer any questions I may have regarding “Dunkin”. I was so pleased to see their girls loving on, playing with, and even calling my pup the name I have chosen for him. I am thankful for the opportunity to have him join my family and possibly be a blessing to others, through therapy visits, in the future.

The People, Process and Pet are wonderful. Daisy is a great dog. Yes, she’s a puppy which comes with all the puppy stuff involved. But Daisy has turned out to have just the right amount of puppy and right amount of personality we were looking for. Full of beans & fun, smarter than we expected, and well-mannered when she should be. After just a couple of days she fits well with the rest of the gang and socialized great with the other dogs in the neighborhood. A true pleasure to have as a family member.

Our experience with Great Oaks Kennel has been nothing but the BEST! From our very first phone conversation, we were confident that Bear would be receiving the most love and care with the Murray's before we got to bring him home. They were so patient and answered all of our questions and were so communicative with us during the first 8 weeks of Bear's life. We loved receiving pictures and videos of all the pups and we felt like we were given ample time to play with all the puppies when we went to pick ours out. I'm so thankful that we are getting our first dog from the Great Oaks, they have really helped us feel prepared to care for and love Bear! We can't wait to bring him home!

“This was our first time getting a puppy, and from a reputable breeder, and it has been the most seamless, enjoyable process we could’ve asked for. I inquired online about a golden retriever puppy at Great Oaks Kennel and Justin called me that night! They had just found out one of their retrievers was pregnant and put us down on the list! We were so excited. Jill then called us after all puppies were born and we weren’t able to get a female from the litter we wanted (no one can control how many males/females are in a litter, so we did not care one bit) so they gave us the option to pick from another litter and we think it was meant to be. We were informed about puppy picks and we were glued to our phones all week looking at all the videos and pictures and we honestly didn’t care which one we got because they all are so adorable and have such good personalities from what we saw in the videos. Then, the week of puppy pick ups, on Tuesday, Justin called me letting me know our puppy had a knot on his neck and they took him to their vet to get it checked out and Justin thoroughly explained the situation and the vet said it was nothing harmful and the location was where the microchip was inserted but they started him on antibiotics anyways and would send us home with them to finish them out. We were so relieved and more reassured that we picked the right breeder. They have kept in contact with us, answered any questions (via text, email, or phone call) and have taken such great care of these puppies, and treated them like their own family. The only hard part is waiting 8 weeks to take our little furry bundle of joy home with us! Also, please note, we had plenty of other breeders to choose from closer to home (we are from Iowa) but Great Oaks Kennel were by far the most responsive and compassionate of all of them which makes the 8 hour drive completely worth it and we can already see us getting another puppy from them in the future.”

Great Oaks Kennel made getting my new Bernedoodle puppy so stress free and fun even through Covid-19. Their communication and updated up to and after the day I got to pick him was second to none. You can tell the Murray family really cares about the puppies and take incredible care of them so you get to being home a sweet healthy puppy. They even made sure to send a detailed letter full of tips and what to expect in the first few weeks with my new puppy. Getting our puppy from Great Oaks Kennel has been one of the best decisions we’ve made. I looked for many months to find a place that I thought would be loving, kind, and knowledgeable on Golden Retrievers. Justin and Jill both were so helpful and did a great job at answering my questions. The decision to add a dog to your family, and then finding the right dog, can be a very stressful experience. We chose to go with a beautiful Bernedoodle. This breed is not easy to find and even harder to obtain a puppy without being on a long waiting list.
